Let's Make It BEACHY!

The wall color was changed, but before decor additions.  Home Owner decided to paint over the weekend.  No before pictures to show of the color.  It was a tan/peach color.

Decor is added.  Client had shower curtain, rugs, and a couple towels.  All decor was purchased to go with  existing shower curtain and rugs.

I found this perfect shelf  which really compliments the cabinetry and motif we were going for.   Custom made the sea shell frame from shells the client's son had collected at the beach.  Also took a stock initial and painted and added sand.

Added the dark blue towels to existing towel Client already had.  Found this beautiful starfish picture and sconce at Kirkland's.  Again, we added some sand to the sconce and shells the client's son had collected at a younger age for memories to be relieved for years to come.

Put up the towel ring and added a few finishing touches.  Since we left, the client added beach pictures of them from years past to the cute triple frame we added to the wall.

How cute is this!?!  Found the pelican statue and a starfish night light.

A close up of the custom picture frame with collected sea shells.  Client's son is playing in the sand from years ago.

Custom work had to be done to this sign to get it to hang on the wall, as it was designed to set on furniture.

L M Cline's was hired to add to existing pieces to the bathroom to work with what the client already had purchased.  Using the client's description of what she wanted the end result of the main bath to be, "Playful, but nice.  Not sure if I can say elegant."  I do believe by viewing these photos you will see that we achieved all three!  I am sorry to say that we did not really get any good "Before" photos of the bathroom.  The client decided after we had started work in other areas of the home, to paint one weekend on their own for money saving costs so we could do the decor.  Thus only having an updated color to go from with these photos.

The paint color of choice we had decided on is Benjamin Moore #1459 Metro Gray in an eggshell finish.  This paint color really brought out the blue colors in the shower curtain without being too powerful.  It also helped bring the dark gray tile with the lighter gray grout together and make the bathroom more cohesive with the black granite counter top and dark mahogany cabinetry.  By adding the dark shelving it really brought out the background colors in the granite and tied things together nicely.  The bathroom has 9' ceilings so by raising the shower curtain slightly it helps your eye travel farther up.  By adding these fabulous driftwood anchors and little saying to the back wall above the shower curtain it ties the entire motif together.

This was a very fun and festive way to display past memories of beach trips and still make the bathroom fun and playful for their 6-year-old son and give an air of elegance without being to over powering for the space. L M Cline's really enjoyed this project.
